Google has renovated Android 16 in such a way that it eases daily tasks and makes smartphone operations fun! In recent developments, Google may add an essential feature in Android 16 that will let apps turn off AI writing tools features.

The second developer preview of Android 16 has new AI Writing Tools APl. The API spotted by @MishaalRahman (via Android Authority) lets you decide if they want AI-generated texts or not. This ability could be quite useful.

These AI tools are ideal for when you are short of words or ideas and want to write a long document, report, or even an important message.

Android 16 has new AI Writing Tools APl

Android 16 Developer Preview 2 is out and it comes with offers fun features to Pixel smartphone users. Whether we talk about productivity tools or new customizations. In addition to these, Android analysts discovered two new methods in the EditorInfo class. Their names are given below:

  • isWiritingToolsEnabled()
  • seWritingToolsEnabled()

The “isWiritingToolsEnabled()” lets the app transfer editable text to the device keyboard. It means that the AI ​​writing tool is enabled for the text editor. The “seWritingToolsEnabled()” allows the app to choose whether it wants to use AI writing features or exclude them. Both plans are intended to help apps better control write operations.

This feature will come to all Pixel and some Android-based phones and tablets with the stable Android update sometime in Q2 of next year.

Android 16 DP 2 features include an adaptive refresh rate, improved haptics (vibration feedback), predictive back animation improvements, Health Connect update, and cloud search in the photo picker.
