Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition announced with 200MP camera
Samsung ends all the leaks and rumors of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Samsung’s slimmest Foldable has been announced and will be available to buy from October 25th in Korea. The Special Edition of the Galaxy Z Fold comes with some major differences over the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Is the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition slim?
As hinted in the leaks, this foldable is slimmer and lighter than its predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is 10.6 mm thick, and the weight is 236 grams. It is 1.5mm thinner and 3 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Specifications and price
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition sports a 200 MP wide-angle main camera, whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has only a 50 MP camera. This powerful camera captures more vivid and clear photos and videos. On the front of the unfolded display, it has a 4 MP under-display camera, and the cover screen has a 10 MP selfie shooter.
As of now, it is introduced with a single Black Shadow color option. It comes in a single 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. Furthermore, In Korea, the device is priced at KRW 2,789,600 (roughly $2,029 USD).
However, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is also used in the Fold 6. Its display is also bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It sports an 8-inch internal and 6.5-inch outer display.
It has a 4400 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The Fold also supports 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Software update support
In terms of software, it comes with One UI 6 based on Android 14 out of the box. The device is eligible for seven Android upgrades and seven years of security updates. It also supports Samsung’s Galaxy AI features.
