Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 for Phone (2a) announced
Nothing today rolled out the Nothing OS 3.0 powered by the Android 15 open beta 1 update for Nothing Phone (2a). Plus, the company also confirmed the stable version of Nothing OS 3.0 will launch in December 2024. In addition to the beta rollout, the company also revealed the Nothing OS 3.0 Open beta release timeline.
According to the Nothing OS 3.0 Open beta release timeline, the Phone (2) and Phone (1) will get it next month. Moreover, the Phone (2a) and CMF Phone 1 will get it on December 2024.

Coming to the Nothing OS 3.0 Open beta 1 for Phone (2a), the update brings lots of new features and improvements. Nothing OS 3.0 focused on simple, impactful, and emotive design. Moreover, the latest beta version is designed to deliver Phone (2a) users the most personalized, creative, and productive experience possible on devices.
This update brings improvements in the Lock screen, Quick settings, Smart Drawer, Camra, pop-up view, and other enhancements.

● View information without leaving your current app. Simply swipe down on incoming notifications to enter the pop-up view. Enable via Settings > System > Pop-up view.

● Added support for auto-archive function to automatically free up storage space without removing apps or data from your device.
● Partial screen sharing for more efficient and secure screen recording. Record just an app window rather than the entire screen.
● Updated setup wizard to version 3.0 for the smoothest introduction to Nothing OS.
● Enabled predictive back animations for apps that have opted in.
Since this is a beta version, the test firmware may interfere with personal data and may require a factory reset, so it is suggested to have an up-to-date backup before the update.
How to install Nothing OS 3.0 Beta 1 on Phone (2a)
- Make sure you have installed Nothig OS 2.6 with build number Pacman-U2.6-240828_1906
- Download the APK and install it from your file
- Go to Settings > System > Update to Beta version.
- Click “Check for new version” and follow the steps to get started.
