Nothing Phone 3a series and CMF Phone 2 to get Snapdragon Chipset and Telephoto and Periscope Zoom Camera
Nothing Phone (3a), Nothing Phone (3a) Plus, and CMF Phone 2 have leaked online, revealing that the two Nothing phones are expected to come equipped with a Snapdragon chip while CMF Phone 2 will stick with the Mediatek Dimensity chip.
Telephoto zoom lens for upcoming Nothing phones
According to Android Authority, the Nothing Phone (3a) may include a telephoto lens, while the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus could take it to the next level with a periscope zoom lens. However, based on this, it would be the very first Nothing phone to even have a periscope telephoto camera.
They would also be the initial Nothing-branded phones with an actual zoom camera capability at all since the company has not included one in any of its previous phones, opting for dual camera modules using a main and an ultrawide camera instead.
Nothing 3a, 3a Plus, and CMF Phone 2 to get a Snapdragon Processor
It is said that the company may want to use a new system of chips (SoCs) for Phones 3a and 3a Plus. The latest beta version hints at three possible codenames: namely, asteroids, asteroids plus, and Galaga. While it is still uncertain whether the codenames pertain to a single model or several devices, it may refer to the Nothing 3a, 3a Plus, and the CMF Phone 2.
Based on the leaks, it is expected that the Phone 3a and the Phone 3a Plus will be using Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipsets, dropping the previously used MediaTek chipset. However, it is theorized that the CMF Phone 2 will maintain the use of a MediaTek SoC.
It is believed that the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Plus will both go with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset; the CMF Phone 2 chipset may be from the same chipmaker whose processor the company used in the CMF Phone 1. In other words, it could have used a MediaTek Dimensity processor.
eSIM Support
In addition, it will also be interesting to see if the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus will be the company’s first to offer support for the eSIM. Consumers are expected to be able to utilize two actual nano-SIMs or electronic SIMs along with a physical nano-SIM for dual-SIM operations. Nevertheless, CMF Phone 2 may use only a physical SIM card since it remains popular in the mobile market now.
