Xiaomi 15 Series with Snapdragon 8 Elite Set to Launch Next Week: A New Era of Power Begins
Xiaomi’s new phone Xiaomi 15 series will be released on October 29 in China. The next smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, giving Android devices a monumental performance bump compared to the current market offering. The future realities will make Xiaomi one of the first companies to earlier release smartphones based on the new flagship chipset.
It retained and promised that the Xiaomi 15 Series would be the first smartphone series to be launched on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. However, Xiaomi has finally set the date for the series launch, which is the 29th of October at 7 p.m. local time in China. On Weibo, too, Xiaomi officially teased the HyperOS 2.0, which would be announced and launched during the same event. To top it off, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is going to be released as well.
Last but not least, Xiaomi’s 15 series will be the first flagship product to shift from an optical fingerprint scanner to an ultrasonic one. The ultrasonic technology is usually way faster and more accurate, as well as doesn’t require you to turn on the finger and read it, which is so good in darkness most of the time.
The following models will be released this year out of the Xiaomi 15 series: the Xiaomi 15 and the Xiaomi 15 Pro, with some enhanced features though.

The Pro variant will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved display, 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision, which indeed gives a richer experience. In the standard model, a flat screen of 6.36 inches will be applied. Both phones are going to provide lightning-wired and wireless charging of high speed with a great battery capacity of over 5000 mAh. The Xiaomi 15 Pro will mainly incorporate a triple-cam system with a key 50MP camera sensor. It will be accompanied by a 5x optical zoom telescope and an ultra-wide sensor for professional photography.

The entire Xiaomi 15 series will run Qualcomm’s newly released Snapdragon 8 Elite integrated chip. This is an octa-core chip that consists of two cores working at 4.32 GHz and six cores working at 3.53 GHz. Then, Qualcomm is using its own in-house Oryon CPU.
More Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered flagships to arrive soon
Flagship phones with similar chipsets won’t remain limited to Xiaomi models for long; Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, and Realme are also gearing to launch their devices mounted with Snapdragon 8 Elite within a week’s time; the iQOO 13 and Honor Magic 7 Series will be launched on October 30, while the OnePlus 13 equipped with the same chipset is also set to be unveiled on October 31 in China. Realme GT 7 Pro will also be released for sale on November 4.
