Samsung ends software support for Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Tab A7
Two more Galaxy devices will not receive more software updates after this month. Samsung has removed the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Galaxy Tab A7 devices from the October SMR. Both devices were announced in 2020 and have now completed their software update cycle.
Although both the devices have been removed from software update support, if there is a critical problem related to software, the company may release an update for it. That is why Samsung is one of the best smartphone manufacturers known for their software support.
If you are a Galaxy Z Fold 2 user who wants regular security updates, you can now upgrade to the new Fold device. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be the best option to upgrade. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is eligible for 7 years of software support.
However, Galaxy Tab A7 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G were released with Android 10 out of the box. There was a difference of about a month in the launch of both the devices. And now software support for both ended together.
Moreover, last year the 4G model of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 already joined the software support end list. And from this month on, the 5G models will not get new software updates.
